Repuatation for College Essays Section

Hey guys,
I thought, why not have a reputation bar so if people that received essays that actually edited it and gave suggestions should get some reputation so we can tell who is actually collecting and who's really not. It'll give some order in the forum as well. Because I've seen people who ask to PM the essay and don't give feedback at ALL.

Thanks,
Gotmilklol

Good afternoon...thanks for the suggestion. Any features that require subjective input leave themselves open to abuse, which is why we try to avoid them. Besides, would members vote based on quality of the critique, or simply based on the presence of feedback? And what if a member became offended by otherwise solid, constructive feedback and decided to cast a negative vote? The legitimacy/meaning of the reputation ranking could come into question.

I really think that the burden lies on the person that wants an essay critiqued. And a better strategy than just making a thread asking for comments is to spend some time on CC, look for posters who give good comments, research their past posting history and then PM them to ask for help.

This both helps you to sort out people who you have some degree of confidence in and it reduces the likelyhood of plagarism or other problems that may occur when you send your essay out to anyone who responds to your thread.
