Requesting 3.0 to 3.3 weighted GPA forum

As the OP of what has turned out to be an active and incredibly helpful thread, I would like to request that we have a subforum allocated to students with 3.0 to 3.3 weighted GPAs.

New 3.0 to 3.3 (GPA) Parents Thread

Several posters on the thread have expressed interest in a subforum.

What would be the procedure for making this happen?

Thank you!

CC moderators/administrators:

This is a fabulous idea! The thread referenced has reached 68 pages, with a great many parents expressing frustration that the rest of CC is not very relevant to them.

A subforum would, among other things, be very helpful if it would have separate threads by region, so that, for example, parents only interested in Midwestern schools need not wade through dozens of posts about Northeastern schools.

I think this would be helpful too. Since the majority of students in real life are in fact B or even C students, this would be very, very useful.

Due to differences in grading standards, any forum based on a small numeric range would have a variety of problems. For example, a 3.3 at an elite magnet school might mean something quite different than a 3.3 at a very average HS.

The other issue is whether members who fell outside that range would want a plethora of other GPA-based fora. And what about the large number of members from high schools without weighted grades...?

So, here's the challenge - is there a better way of grouping? "Average students" sounds kind of patronizing... but I think if there is indeed demand for such a group, a non-numeric title will be better. Ideas?

"B" Student Forum is non-numeric :-)
or
How about the "Forum for anyone who feels intimidated on the other Forum" LOL. Please don't kill me.

Seriously though, years ago this forum really helped me with my older high achieving son; not much help (not anyone's fault of course) with my hard-working, low testing daughter a few years later. Now, with my last, very average DS, I'm back. I don't feel patronized by my DS being called average. Call the forum whatever you want, I'll be there! :-)
