What's the use???

Ok. Look. I thought this site was for students seeking help. But why then, do sooo many people look at a thread without posting replies?
The users that posted those threads need advice, and tons of people look at the threads, but very few actually offer help. WHY??? *hint hint*
It irritates me that users of this site do that.

Waaaaay too often we can't tell what the question really is without going to the thread. Then most of the time I find that I don't know the answer, so the read count goes up without a reply.

bbboy, all but one of your posts has replies; you're doing very well!

People don't reply when they don't know the answer or don't have something pertinent to share. That's a good thing. Too many boards you have people throwing out guesses resulting in misinformation being provided.

I agree with annoyingdad. I feel like I start to see too many kids who come in and just regurgitate information they have drawn from seeing other people post, just so they can feel helpful without actually knowing whether or not they are right.

I personally try to post from personal experience because that's what I find helpful. I think that may be the most useful form of answer.
