Avatars and Signatures?

Why doesn't CC allow avatars and signatures? Most forums allow this and it seems almost like a "necessary" part of any forum.

In all seriousness, it is because this forum is run by adults. Serious, conservative, no-nonsense adults. Like your parents.

I usually don't have avatars or signatures anyway, so it doesn't matter to me, but I don't see what the harm is in allowing reasonable-sized avatars here...

This idea has been debated in the past, but we have not made the decision to allow these features.
