Are Conn students apathetic? Or are there many students that are social activists there?

My daugher is considering this school, and the sense I have gotten is that the students, while socially conscious, are not "out there" activist types. There's emphasis on community service, environmental issues, increasing diversity and global perspective, in a quietly liberal way.
