help a (hopefully-one-day) conn (student) applicant

Hey guys!
I'll be applying ED to Conncoll because I fall in love with it and realized it looks perfect for me. Liberal campus, diverse people, strong academics and ok athletic programmes and also offers FA whats pretty important.
At the moment my biggest problem is the essay topic. I'll list few topics so tell me what do you think.

a) overcoming fear of heights by doing a bungee jumping - taking a risk to overcome problems
b) describing my other home (a little island where i go every summer)
c) helping a gay friend who got beaten up
d) my free time - concerts make me relax and see how life is good
e) loosing a important match where i was (the main) reason (missed the goal in last seconds)
f) my ambitions of becoming a prime minister of my country
g) my grandpa who taught me everything about sports and thnx to him i always play sth

my topics are pretty light (except the f) and believe I can say a lot about me; i dont wanna do any philosophizing like peace in world, etc. but talk about little things that affected me and shaped me in a person im today. with which topic i'd be unique and stand out?

in which application section i could emphasize that i used to be in a national team in handball (9th grade)?

Thank you guys!

hi luluzg!!
yay! I'm glad that you like Conn as well! =D
I think that are all good topics! I think that important thing is to write a impressionable one that will make the difference at the end. I like c,e, and g s I had to pick.

ditto to what morning glory said. My daughter's essay for Conn (current student) was how she first visited Conn by accident (coming back from Brown/Providence College visit, had extra time, i suggested she swing by Conn for unplanned visit and she loved school. Her point being that sometimes in life we make good decisions that were not the result of extensive prior research/ we learn as we go. Write what you feel most sincere about, that explains who you are (corny i know but often works) Good luck

I would probably guess that e or g would give you a good opportunity to express the kind of person you are, describe life lessons you have learned and how this will make you a better person, whether or not you go to Conn. Will you play any sports there and if so have you also contacted coaching staff in that sport?

a) overcoming fear of heights - this is the best IMHO. It can be personal, funny and insightful.
b) describing my other home (a little island where i go every summer)- A little elitist
c) helping a gay friend who got beaten up - Not about you
d) my free time - concerts - Lightweight. So what- who doesn't like free time to relax?
e) loosing a important match - trite
f) my ambitions of becoming a prime minister of my country- you're a kid
g) my grandpa - trite

hey guys i'm having a problem!
i stayed in touch with an admission officer for two weeks where she responded my e-mails (app. 4 of them) within two days and she hasnt responded on the last email, its been more than 2 weeks.
the same thing happened with the FA office but they havent responded for a week.
should i contact them again or they are just on vacations?
or even worse, they are ignoring me...?
please help me because im really confused.

She might be on vacation, but staff at Conn usually use the out of office auto reply option that replies automaticlaly to emails about when they are coming back.. if it has been two weeks I suggest re emailing =D
and for essays, don't worry too much about too trite/cliche...just write something that can only come from you and set you apart from others!(I know that's not as easy as it sounds, but good luck!)
