this is a pretty quiet forum..

if the lone wanderer does come across this post, please answer ?

how rigorous is the admissions process?
with which other colleges is it comparable to, in terms of getting into, specifically, the engineering school?

Engineering is as vigorous as it gets.
Acceptance rarte is ~10% or less, just to put in in perspective.
I'll be applying next year.

Engineering is actually the least selective (statistically) of the three schools at Cooper. Architecture is the most difficult to get into, followed by art, and then engineering. The overall acceptance rate is 10%. The rate for engineering is significantly higher because architecture has about a 3%-4% rate and if I remember correctly, art is also in the single digits.

What might be deceiving is the self-selection aspect for engineering. It's a bit more difficult to tell where you stand for art and architecture since admissions to those schools is heavily dependent on portfolios, and it's hard to judge yourself in that area.

Well Idk.
Do you have a link of the % of applicants accepted and the average SAT scores of engineers?

eh.... but thats 2007 data... lower acceptance rates for 2008 and it'll probably go down a little more due to the financial situation most ppl are going through.....

True, but it won't change dramatically. It's going to be pretty similar I'm sure.
