I've already applied, but I would like some opinions

Hello everyone. I am new here on College Confidential, and I have already applied Early Decision to Cornell University (College of Arts and Sciences).

Here are my stats:
GPA - 4.334 weighted
~ 3.8-3.9 unweighted

SAT 1960
MATH 690
CR 570 (ouch)
WR 700 (Essay 11)

SATII's
Math II - 800
Chemistry - 800

AP Test
Chemistry - 5

ACT 33
Writing 34
Math 35
Reading 34
Science 30
Essay 8 (ouch)

EC's
- German Honor Society (award won)
- German Club Member
- Endurance Swimming
- Volunteering at Assisted Living Home
- Woodworking and Construction
- Computer and Water Cooling Design, Overclocking... (international award won)
- Teen Leadership Committee Chosen Member (award won)

I am a first generation immigrant, and speak Russian fluently at home. My parents both graduated from the same Belarusian college with the equivalent of a masters degree in civil engineering.

I am told that my essays are not only very good, but communicate me as a person (a clown of sorts).

My guidance counselor tells me my chances are very good. What are my chances of getting in?

VeryProspective,

Most of your academic stats and your extracurricular's (especially your international award) give you a good chance (>75%?) of getting accepted into Cornell ED.

Although a few of your test scores could be better, a solid essay will make up for this.

Good luck!

Thanks ttmaster, you have made me anticipate mid-December with less anxiety than plain hope.

Anybody else?
Please?
