Essay: rushed and uninteresting. If this is the case low chances,but i'm assuming you're simply being self critical here so i'll say you have an extremely good shot.

75% chance assuming your essay isn't actually significantly worse than everything else on your application. Maybe 40% if your essay really is a big drawback. Given your other accomplishments though, I'm guessing your essay was above average, unless you did something really stupid in the essay (spelling/grammar errors, being offensive, etc.).

Don't apply to Cornell early decision simply because your mom told you too. Apply only if cornell is your absolute, number 1 choice, and you wouldn't turn it down for any other college. That is your choice to make, not your parent's, or anyone else's.

Well I did talk about trying to grow "weeds" as my passion for agriculture, my common app essay is about the same old parents who immigrated to america, and my extracurricular short answer is about my ebay business (in which I accidentally selected the wrong birthday, and forgot to pay taxes on)
Do you think any of those essays were offensive or a bad decision in general?

You know, I've responded to many 'chance' threads with the comment "No one ever says their essay sucks" -- now I have to change that!!!

Ok, seriously ... your grades and standardized tests are great. Based on these alone, I'd say you have an above above average shot at admissions.

Your essays -- the one on 'weeds' -- I like the topic. Similarly, the ebay business essay has a lot of potential. Parents immigrated also could work. Nothing offensive about the topics, expecially if they're well written.

Maybe I don't have to change my 'stock' answer -- doesn't sound like these suck at all.
