Guys I know I'm going to sound hypocritical in saying this BUT just be patient. I was just talking to the XC coach at Cornell and he informed me that this is a very slow process and constantly calling the admissions office isn't going to help your case. So having said that, I'm just going to be patint now and hope for the best!

I'm also sorry to those who were rejected thus far. I'm sure you guys will do amazing wherever you guys end up. Good luck with everything!!

To those who get the rejections, are the rejection letter the same. In mine, it says"Certainly your academic record, personal information, and supporting materials indicate.....However, as the number of well qualified and highly recommended transfer applicants to the university has increased, we have to......" I applied to CALS. Is this rejection letter personalized? If it is, does it indicate that my recommendation is weak?
I kinda expect the rejection because I have not completed the prerequisite courses for enrollment... Thanks!!

@Chris, gotcha! Well keep us updated! I am finding it difficult to be patient; I really thought I'd know by now.

@CornellReject, I received my rejection letter and it said the same thing, so no, they aren't personalized. I think it's just to try and give some rationale behind the decision.

I applied to CALS, have a 3.93 GPA(currently attend community college), have a number of extracurricular activities including serving on the student council and on number of school committees, a member of PTK, have worked full-time whilst going to school, etc etc etc. I did have a pretty mediocre high school record, but that was nine years ago.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I applied, I really just wanted to apply to one ivy league and was strongly advised to do so by one of my professors, so i'm not really upset by the decision. I thought I had a decent shot though. Still waiting to hear back from USC and UW, but i've been accepted to two other schools so it's all good

Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to my fellow rejects!

Hey guys. What is the fb group for the Class of 2015? I feel like it's somewhere here but I haven't flipped to the right pages.

Can rejected applicants still log into the self-service system?

Rejected via snail mail to CAS. 6% acceptance rate kicked my 'A'.

Anywho- sincere congratulations to all who are accepted. To those who received the typical 'thanks but no thanks', be proud of yourselves for putting yourself out there. That in itself is more than most could say. You'll never reach a dream you don't chase. Cheers guys!

@Chris1992 I applied for CAS linguistics. I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU and Penn, and I've already been accepted to UMass.

@alyssa I guess Cornell doesn't have a demand for aspiring linguistics this Fall. lol

@alyssa, have you heard back? seems like theres a lot of cornell and penn applicants. (same here). hoping a rejection from 1 doesn't basically foreshadow one from the other

I totally know what you mean. I'm not expecting too much myself, especially with this rejection looming over me now. I hope to hear good news from NYU, but I would be completely satisfied going to UMass.
