Pretty poor rejection letters indeed. Impersonal, short, and without compliment.

I just got the letter of rejection today from the College of Engineering but I guess its along the lines of many of us who applied. I think we can all agree that we've worked hard on our applications and tried our best to project ourselves as good applicants for Cornell. I guess there's always a next time. Good luck to the rest of you!

Seems like a lot of good candidates here did not get in...that's really unfortunate. I did get into Carnegie Mellon as a ChemE and I will be going there in the fall! Thank you everyone here who got together to form this little community which was definitely helpful during this rigorous process!

Oh and here were the stats sent for review for future reference:
Rejected
-freshman at villanova
-3.93 gpa
-spent much time on the essays
-eagle scout
-research experience (published and got a grant for the summer)
-very good recs
-applied during my senior year of high school and got waitlisted with a recommendation to transfer
It does not seem like the freshman applicants had a lot of luck transferring into engineering. Definitely something a sophomore should do.

I am going to enroll in Brookhaven College in Dallas and despirately want to transfer to
Cornell!!!!!!
I googled this info and found your post here!!
I think it is amazing that I found you, who will be graduating from Brookhaven
where I would be going this upcoming semester.
If it is okay, can I PLEASE ask some more questions to you!??!? please??
I am so lost in this complicated process of transfering credits and all that.
I want to know some real practical advice and infos from you if you are okay.

Congrats on your acceptance!!!!!
My email is jdowri@g.m.a.i.l.c.om. (it comes out as stars * if I type in the proper address. it is gmail)
Can you please send me an email to let me know your

Congrats to everyone that's been accepted! Well done!

New to the site here and shooting for Cornell
HS GPA: 2.00-2.5
SAT: 1200something/2400

Community College GPA: 3.2 (currently enrolled in a winter stats course, I think it will go up by .1). All my grades are from B-A except for 1 D+ in Bio.
Extra Curricular: Speech, Drama, and Debate Club (secretary), Student Government (on a few committees), and I work for an Orchestra (stagehand) and Percussion supplier (basically the same).
Letters of Rec. are in the works and my essay is good so far (about growing up performing but eventually gravitating to writing)

I know my chances are slim but I figured
1. You never know
2. Follow your dreams? lolidk
