Crosslist classes- which name to pick?

Does it matter which class I sign up for when it is cross-listed? For example, Intro to Asian History is listed under ASIAN and HIST

The same class is the same class. Given how wonky computers can be, if you are using the class to fill a requirement for your major, I'd sign up for the class in that department. It'd be annoying to (possibly) have to correct the system because you wanted it to count towards your major.

I had a roommate who the week before graduation had to have a class changed to its other cross-listed option because she was supposed to take it as an ENGRD and hadn't, so yeah, sometimes it matters.

If Oceanography is crosslisted with EAS1540 and BIOEE1540, which name I pick doesn't affect if it is a PBS right?

B/c I know EAS1540 was definitely listed in the PBS list, but BIOEE1540 wasn't.

I don't know if that was just b/c they didn't want to list it twice.

Just for safety you should take it for the one that meets the requirement, for all classes cross-listed within arts I feel they are usually pretty consistent, however it may be because some are cross listed between CoE and CAS it may cause some problems.
