You are very welcome, LoneStar. I know we are all stressed right now, and funny enough, talking about it is making me feel better. You applied to CAS, right? I applied CAS philosophy and this wait is killing me.

@bellacose Yes I applied as a Phil major too! I hope we both get in... It's unfortunate that CAS decisions are the last to come out. Is Cornell your top choice? Are you applying as a Sophomore?

Looking over last year's thread, I found applicants that didn't hear word until mid December... so I guess it could be worse. We'll have to make sure to keep in touch if we both get in, it would be nice to not be the only "new kid" in the philosophy department. However, after learning more about how truly selective CAS transfer admissions is, I'm not getting my hopes up. Yes, Cornell is my first choice, with NYU at second. I would be entering as a first semester junior as I have about 65 credits.

Oh my gosh! NYU is my second choice too, perhaps we'll both end up there together as well. Yeah I'm trying to keep steady and prepare for a rejection from Cornell, though their acceptances seem random at times.

My biggest concern about NYU is their dismal fin aid... Cornell would be perfect, a great school with great fin aid.

I agree, it's not ideal and Cornell would be fabulous. Best of luck! Let us know when you hear back, I tried to log into housing but still haven't been able to.

So I just called CALS and the lady who answered the phone said that NOT all acceptance decisions had been made yet. She emphasized that the decisions are made on a rolling basis which I guess was either a polite way of telling me that I had been rejected or a positive sign meaning that we could still have some good news coming up in the next few days.

@YIFCIMS Admissions are indeed rolling basis. My decision was made October 12th according to the transfer evaluation sheet they attached in the e-mail. I imagine the later the submission, the later the acceptance, etc.

@xtarion I didn't receive my physical letter yet, so I don't know how much fin.aid. Did you?

Can anyone applying to CAS log in to housing? CAS is supposed to start sending out letters tomorrow and I still can't log in to housing.

@bellacose
I am applying CAS too! I can't log in housing either.
Some people from last year couldn't log in their housing and just get a big envelope. Don't worry too much.
Also, I guess maybe they delayed sending out decision because of Sandy.
