Good luck to all.
Cornell is a great Univerity, with only a few negatives.
It is a great place to study and make good friends.

Ilr

Tungtied, a friend at Cornell reports that ILR had a record number of applicants for Spring 2013. :-(

Not a good sign considering their only taking 10 to 15 applicants this semester

I'm really stressed out. I am currenty a sophomore applying to CALS (AEM program), and I sill have not heard back yet. All of my documents (including my mid year report) were received and sent for review October 5th. Considering decisions are released on a "rolling schedule" - and my application was one of the first to be received in full - does that most likely mean that I was NOT accepted?

I just want closure. If the answer is most likely I was rejected just let me know. I appreciate your help...

@Beattheodds, I'm pretty sure ILR accepts more than that for both semesters. It tends to be more transfer friendly, but they really focus on fit.

@Alx101, don't rely on hearsay. Is your friend in the admission's office? If he/she isn't, then how does he/she know for certain about the number that applied?

@love, Don't give up hope just yet. They just started releasing decisions.

Tungtied, my connection is solid. That's all I can say. There was a large increase in the number of ILR transfer applicants this year, and it has increased every year for the past several years. I don't know why ILR is suddenly so popular. I have never heard that they only take 10-15 per semester. What I also don't know is whether or not having a phone interview meant anything. Did all transfer applicants have one? If not, who got one and why? Does it mean likely admit or nothing at all?

I had a phone interview with ILR. They told me it was neither a positive nor negative indication of chance. They just wanted to touch base and ask me about how my academic/personal background has led me to apply to ILR.

Has anyone received word back form ILR?? anyone been accepted yet? keep in mind, that most applicants won't be part of this thread so its kind of hard to generalize based on these few responses...

@love4ever

I wouldn't worry, I also applied to CALS and i haven't heard back either yet. (Unless maybe we both got rejected haha)

A couple posts back somebody said that CALS will most likely get their applications back before Thanksgiving break. So it is pretty likely they'll be coming either this week or next week.

There have also been cases where some people didn't get their acceptances until mid December, so we're not completely out of the loop, even if we don't get them back by Thanksgiving.

In any case, i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Has anyone applying to CAS tried logging onto housing? After trying to sign in does it just say "Your session has timed out or you're not logged in" for you guys also...

Hi guys, I've been stalking this thread for a while now . I'm an applicant to CALS, so I was wondering, has anyone at all heard back from CALS? I know someone who used to work in Cornell's admissions dept. - said that CALS makes its decision by major, but CAS just takes the whole applicant pool into consideration.

AHHHHHHHHH this wait is killing me

@LoneStar20

I get the same message when I try to log in to housing. I called CAS today and expressed my concerns about not being about to log in. I told them that I felt like it meant I was rejected. They told me that NO applicants to CAS should be able to log in to housing at this point since they just sent out their first batch of responses today. Maybe she was lying, but it made me feel better regardless.

@bellacose ahhh that makes me feel slightly better... Thank you! Did you send in your entire application long before the deadline? Because I sent mine the day of... So I'm assuming the later you send it in the later you'll receive notice of any kind...

I'm a CAS applicant and get the same message when I try to log in. I called today and asked if my letter had been sent out yet. The woman told me that they haven't decided on my admissions decision. I got my forms in on October 1 and my application status changed to 'Under Review' a few days later. Hopefully she wasn't telling me that they haven't decided because she couldn't tell me I was rejected. The wait is killing me!
