| Chance for Biometry & Statistics as Transfer
Currently at a SUNY and looking into Biometry/Statistics at CALS, I hear the major is fairly unpopulated and welcomes those with a strong background and passion for math (perfect for me).
My overall average GPA (freshman year) is 3.34.
I made the dean's list last semester with a 3.51.
Currently taking Calc III and Linear Algebra with my professor, who I've taken an independent study with and can get a strong recommendation from. Alongside my workload, I'd like to attempt some research with this professor.
This summer, I took Calc II at Columbia University and received a B.
My uncle is an alumni and my older brother currently attends Cornell (ILR, not CALS).
Does being a New York resident boost the chance of acceptance at all?
Also, I'd be applying for financial aid. Does that reduce my chances?
