Alternate School Application Questions (as well as a Q about applying for vet sci)

Hi everyone I'm going to be applying ED to the agriculture school with my alternative application going to the college of arts and sciences. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little about that process. Are they reviewed by entirely separate readers and committees? Will both my essays be seen by both schools or only their respective schools? Will the benefit of early decision be lost for my alternative school because it was not my first choice? Might they accept me into my alternative school instead of my primary because i am a new york state resident and my tuition will be substantially higher in that school?

On a different note i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the myth that students are judged more harshly if they affirm that they are interested in veterinary sciences. Might this 'myth' be accurate within once school and not another?

(BTW for anyone who may have seen my chance me thread for ED at Johns Hopkins; this is a shared account)

The applications are read separately. I believe each school sees only the essay for that school. I'm not sure if the 2nd choice will know if they are your 2nd choice or not, or how that interacts with ED. I'm pretty sure your first choice school won't know that you have an alternate listed, and they will just assess you as a regular candidate. Thus your residency status shouldn't come into play any more than it normally would independently for each school.
