"Outside" Recommendation

Hello,
I am getting a 3rd recommendation from someone I worked with at an internship. On the commonapp, there are only forms for teachers and counselors. Do I just get the person to send the letter in without a form? Also, I need to get a stamped envelope to this person. If I can only contact them through email, how do I get the envelope to them? Can I mail them an addressed, stamped envelope?

Just wondering, you are getting a rec from your guidance counselor, 2 teachers, and now someone else from an internship?

No guidance counselor. 2 teachers, and someone from my internship. I personally don't see the point in getting a guidance counselor recommendation. They don't know you as well as teacher's do because you only see them a few times a year. Besides, the guidance counselor's at my school are completely useless, if not a hindrance to everyone. They screw up everyone's schedules, then wait until August to tell you, then act condescending and dickish through email(at least to one of my friends who got a completely messed up schedule because of guidance). I've never had a guidance counselor tell me something useful. They always forget who I am too, even if I go to them a lot. They are completely useless( at least at my school, maybe they are different at other schools), and luckily Cornell does not require a counselor recommendation. Unfortunately, University of Maryland does....:/

Haha I see...I guess at my school it's just customary to get one from your guidance counselor. You've cleared up a lot for me haha. And in regards to your question, they don't need a form, just their letter in an envelope with the address and when the college receives it, they keep it under a file with your name. Good luck!

I think your GC has to fill out a recommendation on the Common App for every student, whether you want it or not.

On the Commonapp, there are printable forms for teachers and guidance counselors. It doesn't say which ones you need. So I thought I would just print 2 teacher ones, get them mailed, then get a letter mailed from someone else.
