CALS Admission Committee

When you apply to a specific major inside CALS, is your application reviewed by a general CALS admission committee or by a committee dedicated to the major your applying to ?
(ie. Is an applicant whose intended major is Animal Science application reviewed by the same committee who'd be reviewing an applicants application with the intended major of Landscape architecture)
Also- how exactly is the application read? Is there actually a committee that reviews all applications or are the initial applications vetted ?
