Redundant?

Hello,
I'm going to apply to the biology major in the CALS. My commonapp essay is about animal euthanizing experience and how it caused me to reflect on how my career aspirations help with animal welfare. In my supplemental essay, I'm still trying to figure out how to edit it. Is it ok if I talk about the same internship in both essays? The commonapp one only focused on the one animal handling class and its effect on my career aspirations while the cornell one focused on the biology/lab side of the internship. I also want to talk about my experiences in the biomed program at my school. could i also talk about working at the hospital? I thought I would elaborate on that in the commonapp section that asks you to elaborate on an extracurricular activity, so should it not be repeated? Where should my focus be?
