Since we're less than a month from the ED deadline and I didn't see any similar threads...here we go!

Anyone else applying ED? And how ready do you guys feel?

Where do you find the writing supplement?

Yes, and extremely nervous. I cant believe its almost here.

The writing supplement can be found on the CA website. You have to declare which school you are applying to before the supplement shows up

Applying ED....watching "Admissions" is a really bad idea if your self-image is weak slash you have a slim chance of getting in to such high institutions. But good luck to y'all! I'm touring with some people from my city around 11/10-11/11, anyone there around then?

Applying ED to the Hotel School! Just submitted my app the other day. What college are you guys applying to? And has anyone that's submitted their app received a confirmation email?

I wanna do Bio there....so tons of choices, I believe three schools will let you do a bio-related major. I think I'm gunning for CAS, but HE might be looked at as my second choice. I need to do more damn research! I just know CoE is too hard for me to get into...though MS sounds cool enough.

Hooray, we're all in the same boat here :D

For the SAT, I don't think Cornell takes the writing section into account so they'll look at your score out of 1600 (CR+M)

I'm applying to CALS as a Bio major. Really excited...and nervous!
  • TypeRATypeRA Posts: 297Registered User Junior Member
Yep, they don't give a damn about writing. My 1400 ain't making waves....

    okay, Taboo subject:
which college is "easiest" to get into for a bio major?
    :flame suit on:

I ask out of curiosity for numbers, since three colleges exist for the same major. I'm 99 percent sure taht I'll apply to CAS regardless of what the answer might be, but I'm curious ;)

I'm thinking about applying ED to the ILR school but idk... If I don't get my SAT score up, I won't get in at all.

What are the pros and cons of applying ED? I really need to think this through.

    Good:
+Have you seen that admit rate? If you have an Ivy in your heart, you gun for it ED.
+You're done by December if everythings done well!
+Supposedly you get the same financial package ED or RD. mmkay...
+shows commitment. You aren't another flakey kid, you WANT IN on Big Red 2018.
+classes at cornell (36 percent) fill up soon! Get in there, brotha!
+just a bit under the average numbers needed? ED will get you there!

    Cons:
-you might want to look at other places; what if Cornell isn't your place, but Tufts is? Well, guess what? You don't have that chance. You're Cornell property in 99 cases out of 100. Hate Ithaca? Sucks to suck.
-You can't compare $$$ packages betwixt schools.
-*poor* (ie, 2100 or below, kinda like me) scores or numbers relative to the applying class? You have little time (less than a month) to pull up numbers, and even then, not much an effect. And Cornell doesn't really do deferrals...
-Not ready by the 1st of November? Not like anyone really is, but that's too damn soon...

Oy vey, I'm really nervous about this one... I've wanted to go to an Ivy since I've been a little kid, and I love Cornell so much. My 34 ACT's not helping me that much, though. Hehe... best of luck to all of you! Applying ED to CAS as a Government Major...
