Hey, I got in Jameson as well. I'll be on the third floor. I haven't even been able to find a single picture of the inside of the dorms. I don't really even understand how the rooms are arranged. Any information would be apprecaited. And if you could send me the pics of the inside that you do have I would alos be very appreciative.

The rooms in Jameson are arranged in suites. The layout is weird and confusing.

Is it likeable/easy to adjust to?

I'm in Jameson too, it looks pretty nice. Here is how I understand the rooms are arranged:

There are clusters of rooms right near each other on each floor. Each cluster has two singles, a double, and a triple. Each cluster also gets its own bathroom to share. This circular (I think) cluster of rooms is called a "suite". There are around seven students to each suite. Also, there are six suites on each floor. Each floor has a common area, a kitchen, etc. That is why you get a floor #, suite #, then room # within that suite.

The 1 in the beginning just designates Jameson. I got 1522, so I am 5th floor, second suite, second room.

My very good friends lived in Jameson. It's pretty nice- floors become close, and many suites are good friends amongst each other. The bathrooms are relatively big, shared amongst the suite. The common rooms are fairly large with couches and TVs and balconies. The top floor has a lounge (the Sky Lounge) with one of the best views on campus and it's great for small parties!
And, a very cool thing, the internal walls on some of the rooms (not all the way around, but one/two walls per room) are brick! It's actually pretty neat looking.
I would, however, bring a lamp or two, for I don't remember it being particularly bright.
Enjoy it! Jameson's a great hall and I partially wished I had lived there (but Balch always will have a spot in my heart).

Nope. It's completely cleaned twice a week and it's tidied up every weekday.

I am trying to envision 7 people sharing one sink, one toilet and one shower...
  • SpanksSpanks Posts: 3,612Registered User Senior Member
I'm pretty sure there are more than one sink, toilet and shower.

Each suite consists of two singles, a double and a triple, and share a bathroom (one toilette, on shower, and a sink).

Per Cornell website (although someone at Cornell had better learn how to use Spell Checker or "proof read")

umm..when i was in a summer camp about 15 guys shared a bathroom, well there were two toliets, but still it's not a lot. I mean come on it's not like everyone will be using it at the same time, and you can always go somewhere else.
