Dorm bathrooms

How are they dorm bathrooms (freshman dorms). I have talked to my other friends and they call their colleges' dorm bathrooms "gates of hell"

well, depends on what your into. If your into seeing a bunch of guys in nothing except boxers walking around in the hallways, then youd probably love Clara Dickson.

Otherwise, I would recommend the townhouse bathrooms.

the bathrooms vary from dorm to dorm. I def wouldnt describe any of the cornell dorm bathrooms as "gates of hell." the dorms set up as suites generally have about 6 people sharing a bathroom that has 1 toilet, 2 sinks, and a shower. these bathrooms have a pretty homey feel, and they stay pretty clean. other dorms like donlon and im guessing dickson have bigger bathrooms for a larger number of people just like any public bathroom with stalls, but they also have showers. from what i have seen they arent too bad though. theyre pretty clean and it doesnt seem like people have trouble sharing the bathroom space or anything. i really dont think its anything to worry about. haha wow i cant believe i just wrote that much about.. bathrooms.

If you live in Dickson or Donlon you're looking at sharing a 6-toilet, 4-shower, 8-sink bathroom with about 25 people.
If you live anywhere else you're going to share a 1-toilet, 2 or 3-sink, 1-shower bathroom with 5 other people.
All the bathrooms are fine and are cleaned daily by staff.

On the whole, I think dorm bathrooms are very clean, mostly because they have people who come and clean them very often. I've seen bathrooms at other state schools, and cornell is nothing like them.

The bathrooms at Rochester were disgusting (at least when I visited) -- one of the reasons I decided not to go.

The townhouse bathrooms are great if you don't like sharing.
If you do, and you go for the traditional dorms such as LLC etc

this is random but did anyone ever visit Columbia and go inside a dorm? hey, great school but WOAHHH i went into this kid's dorm just because a tour was small and he was like ok i'll just take you guys into my room...it was pretty gross, no offense to him personally. mainly the bathroom though, that's what i remember and that's why this post reminded me of it. each room of 2 ppl had a bathroom in this building which was like a dingy old apartment complex that had like 20 floors and an elevator. anyhow, yea the bathrooms were disgusting...
