I'm just going to be straightforward about it, haha - is it as cold all the time as it's made out to be? Will I need to stock up on winter coats and whatnot? How's the weather up there in general?

It is cold , but you'll deal.

Have you ever been to NY?
It has every season, so does Cornell.
Winter is cold & summer is warm
That's the way the world is.
