Cornell Days overnight?

Hi. I was wondering if the best Cornell Days experience is to stay overnight with a host and leave your parents at home. Would that be the best way to glimpse what a real day at Cornell is like? Because I have already visited the campus and am more interested in student life at this point. Also, if you stay overnight with a host, are they with you the whole day? Because I can just picture myself wandering around aimlessy on campus by myself.

Ugh, it's too late to get hosted overnight. I registered yesterday and they sent me an email saying that the only two nights that are available are like the night of the 19th and the night of the 15th... both of which are useless because nothing is going on during the 15th, 19th, or 20th. I'm actually so mad at Cornell right now, I was really looking forward to staying overnight w/ a student, and this is a huge disappointment.
Now I'm just going on the 17th.

Oh no. That sucks. I wanted to go on the 17th as well bc thats when they have the cornell commitment info session thing. Idk now....

Same I was going to stay over either the 16th or 17th but when I signed up yesterday, they said it was all full. Thing is that those are the only days when they have the Presidential Scholar info presentation so I can't go another time. Now I need to scramble to find a hotel to stay at. :(

Do you think its even worth it to go in that case if you've already visited the campus and got a tour?

no it's not worth it...especially if you're renting a hotel and or live outside of the tri-state area...

freshman dorms have RAs which make rounds all night...

if you are trying to decide between cornell and another school it is worth it to get another look.

On the other hand, there might be some charitable students willing to host pre-frosh on this very board...

Can't you formally sign up to be hosted through Red Carpet Society?

I have no problem hosting students, I informally hosted a kid last semester.

see if you have a friend/decent acquaintance who currently goes to cornell and ask them if he/she is willing to host you.

if not.. try the red carpet society again. i know they're currently asking all of the members to try to host as much as possible/find more people who are willing to host. maybe some things have changed since you last asked.

    ****

I'm just gonna show up and ask for permission to sleep on the floor

hahah basically i bet that someone on campus would let you stay with him/her.... is it really different taking a random girl/guy home for the night vs. taking a random prefrosh who will sleep on the floor and not your bed lol

Yeah I got lucky I registered on the first day and got the 16th, but I'm gonna be there the night of the 15th and night of the 16th so I need a place to stay the night of the 15th O_O
