Penn has the highest Bioengineering ranking amongst the Ivy's.
However I would advise those who are interested in doing BME look very carefully into the actual curriculum of each individual program. BE at Penn is actually very heavily based in Math and Physical sciences as well as computer programming. . Whereas JHU and Duke are more Bio based.
One needs to make the distinction between Bioengineering, Biomedical engineering and Biotechnology. The curricula are very different. For example, if you are good in Bio and chemistry related sciences but not that good in Math and physics, You will struggle in BE. I hope this helps.

thanks soo much, bioeng, that really helped!

I was also wondering if college visits factored into the admissions process? I read in a book that some colleges keep track of who visited the school and it is supposed to show that the student is more interested in the school and thus more likely to go if admitted...

because at first, i was only planning to visit the colleges that i got admission to before i made my final choice...

thanks for all your help!

Those colleges tend to be a notch below Ivy-level schools. I know the Ivies don't bother with recording who visited; even if some do, whether you visited doesn't changed anything at all. The smaller, second-rate (shall I say?) schools bother with that kind of stuff to boost their yield.
