TO WAITLISTEES: lack of communication

I think it's fair to assume that Cornell is not taking in any waitlistees (at least not for CAS anyways, where I was waitlisted). Don't you think it's lack of courtesy on the adcom's part not to notify us? They totally neglected us and left us high and dry.

Now I'm totally fine with where I'm going, and probably won't attend even if Cornell accepted me. But anyone find the lack of communication frustrating?

As far as I know waitlisted kids don't get updated unless they are accepted. At least that's how it went for me with the schools I was waitlisted at. I'm glad to hear that you are happy with your current path though. I'm sure you'll do great and have an amazing time.

Thanks.

Penn notified most of its waitlistees, telling them that there's no more room and in effect releasing them from the waitlist. It also put some kids on the extended waitlist.

I think Columbia did the same. So Cornell needs to give its waitlistees a sense of closure.

Yeah, Dartmouth kept sending me waitlist updates looooong after they had already accepted everyone they were going to. In fact, they just sent out their final confirmation that the waitlist is over just last week.

Dartmouth can shove it. They didn't even send out paper rejection letters... Cheapskates. Lol.

Cornell's admissions personnel need to improve in many respects.
