Freshman Requirements

Does that mean that I don't get credit for all the AP courses I took???

In Arts and Sciences, you will get college credit for your AP courses (assuming you score high enough), so you'll be able to take less courses to graduate. However, this is really only good for the first 20 credits, because of the 120 credits you need for graduation, 100 must be from CAS. If you exceed 20 credits, the rest will just be added to your credit total, but you'll still need 100 from CAS no matter what.

Also, AP credits can't be used to fulfill distribution requirements. You can, however, use the credits to place into a higher level class.

no. each college has its own policies regarding APs. CALS will accept up to 30 credits, and you can use them for distribution reqs (both college and major)

Engineering takes almost all AP credits, and doesn't limit how many you can count towards your degree.

Yeah, check each college's website for their specific policies. I was just referring to CAS for the OP.

Oh, and I should add that if you receive a 5 on one of the AP English tests, you'll be able to place out of one Freshman Writing Seminar (of which you need two to graduate). You can't, however, place out of both, even you get a 5 on both AP English tests.

unless you're in CALS.. but i've heard both yes and no. it really depends on your advisor for that. it shows up on DUST though, as ENGL 1101 and 1102 if you get a 5 on both english APs, so.. i suppose, technically, it does? but some advisors still make you take a FWS.
