Cheap bus from Long Island/NYC to Ithaca and back

What is the cheapest way for my friend back home to get to Ithaca? Basically, anything less than the $105 fare from port authority to ithaca.

also are the tgif discounts only for leaving ithaca first? i tried buying a ticket through that but it seems it only works for a round trip starting from ithaca

tgif discounts are leaving for ithaca on a friday and returning to ithaca on a sunday, monday or tuesday. idk if they specify which friday and which sunday monday or tuesday it has to be used.

$105 for a one-way ticket? That's crazy. But if it's really that expensive, here:

No, Shortline is more like 90 - 100 round trip.

^ yeah, that's what I thought. $105 one-way would just be outrageous. I thought I saw $107 on shortline a couple of days ago.

Shortline on the weekends (leave Friday/ return before Monday) are suppose to be $80 RT.
