Essays

If I apply to CoE and apply to CAS as my alternate. Will the CoE admissions also read my CAS essay and consider... of the two.. which program was a better fit for me? Although I wrote a pretty good engineering essay imo. I'm just afraid that my CAS will make the adcoms want to put me in CAS.

Also.. how strict is cornell with the 500wrd limit. Would it be a problem if I write about 550?

no. coe admissions will only read your coe essay. and the word limit is pretty strict. try to cut down on unnecessary words. if you cant pick up on them, have an english teacher read it.
