I believe the number has increased dramatically...Popularity of the AEM program and other CALS majors probably. I know like a large number of kids doing AEM.

No, it means they just shut off their ApplicantID/NetID system they let you use after receiving and processing your CommonApp. You won't be able to check the status of the application materials you send them. But if you have anything missing, they'll send you an e-mail in mid-November and give you the opportunity to get any missing information in.
