^I thought they don't care about your major, like they don't have quotas per major lol

Okay, good, so it's not "fit" as in fit with Cornell.

The only colleges that don't look at individual majors are Arts & Sciences and Engineering. The rest do take into consideration your prospective major and how well you fit into that.

Engineering determines how well you fit into a rigorous math/science program.

Arts has the hardest, with determining how well your academic pursuits match the broad range of the college.
