Am I dead?!

I have maintained a 4.0 uw gpa all throughout high school, but that is about to slam to screeching hault. Out of my 5 AP classes this year I have all A's, but it really looks like I am going to come out of AP Calc AB with a C. I think this will drop my uw to a 3.93 (ish). I have a 33 on ACT (possibly a 34, results out wednesday) and tons of great extracurriculars. If I am still in the top five percent, do I still have a shot at Cornell? I am NOT majoring in a math or science. Hopefully, that will mitigate the dreadful "C". haha Please, quell the fears of this prospective comparative literature and/or russian literature major!

You have absolutely no chance.

No, come on. You're a straight A student who wants to major in english and got one C in math senior year. Chill.

Wow!! I feel a billion times better. Many of friends were telling me I would not have a shot at Cornell with a "C" my senior year. I was seriously down in the dumps about this. Will being from Arkansas and having unique prospective majors help me a little bit? Also, everybody identifies Cornell as pressure intense environment, does this statement retain as much validity when applied to the humanities? Is it just the science areas that are extremely difficult?

1. Being from Arkansas might help.
2. Being a comp lit. or russian lit. prospective major will not help.
3. The humanities are also hard, but depend much less on curves where you are graded in comparison to the rest of the class.

You have little to worry about. Getting a single bad grade doesn't mean much especially compared to the rest of your grades, and considering the strength of your schedule this year anyways.
