CAS Major Selection in Essay?

Should I talk about in my essay what I want to specifically major in for Cornell CAS? I pretty much just wrote about my interests (technology/business). Should we "tailor" it to CAS?

Also, do they admit by major in CAS (they make you select a major)? Are there impacted majors? I'm interested in CS, Econ, or Info Sci...

At the info sesh, the rep said that they care very little about what you say more about how you say it. In other words, they don't care what you select as your major because they know that's likely to change.

"Describe your intellectual interests, their evolution, and what makes them exciting to you. Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study."

What do they mean by academic programs? Do we have to mention specific ones? Or can we just refer to majors and say "the Computer Science program" or the "Information Science program"

Also, are they looking for abstract, or not? I just shared some of my experiences in my essay in a colloquial tone, and how they affected my goals in the future..

Also, do you think I should mention that I participated in a few events/lectures in the lab of a college professor who was a Cornell alumni (undergrad)?

Which school has a business major?

Also, will I be at any disadvantage if I apply to both Arts and Science & Agricultural and Life Sciences? Will Cornell think that I'm indecisive? I want to major in Comp Sci or Business (someone correct me but is Applied Economics and Management the undergrad business school?)

Quick question -would applying as undecided or applying as a specific major in CAS make a difference? I want to study either Comp Sci or Econ, and I talked about both in my CAS essay...

No, applying as undecided won't change your chances.

"Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further explore your interests, intended major, or field of study.""

It does say this, so wouldn't I have to pretty much list a major? Can I list a double-major? Or do I just state in my essay that I want to double-major?
