I had a few friends in the honors program when I was at Creighton (I transferred after my freshman year... I just happened to get into my dream school). The honors program honestly seemed like more work than it was worth. From what I heard the honors classes were good, and the professors were top notch, but most of my friends ended up dropping the honors program. It does look good if you make it through, however.
I guess the advice I would give on it is you may as well try it out and see how it goes. If it is good, great, and if not that is alright as well. You will get your choice of top-flight professors, but it is a lot of work!
