I think the best thing would be to ask one of the admissions counselors. My daughter is seriously considering their pre-med program (and has already been accepted) along with a couple other schools, and was also interested in the honors program. The advice she received was that the honors program was similar to pre-med in that the honors program is a concentration of classes and special courses which produces more of a classical liberal arts education with a cohort of students with similar "honors" interests and focus. That is really what the pre-med "concentration" is as well, and the discussion was that the honors program might take away time from the pre-med stuff. But the prof speaking to her did not discourage her, only that it was a completely different focus and was well-regarded.
