Marymount Manhattan Dance?

I am considering applying as a transfer student to the BA Dance/Teaching arts major. Can anyone tell me some more information about this program, particularly if you have any experiences with it? Do you have the same dance training as the BFAs but it includes teaching too? How are the auditions? Any information at all would be fabulous! Thanks!

I don't have any information but my D is planning on auditioning in Chicago in Jan. She is looking to the BA with arts administration, not the BA. From what I read and understand from that, the classes are the same but there are fewer dance class requirements for the BAs.

My information is dated - the last student I know who enrolled at MM did so in 2003. Her mother was the director of my daughter's dance studio. This woman is a highly respected dance teacher and choreographer; some of her students have gone on to top ballet or modern companies, Broadway, etc. She is very fussy about quality ballet instruction, and Marymount's dance department was one of the few that met with her approval when her d was looking at schools. This really speaks to me (I'm not kidding, the woman is fussy). Just a little data point for you to think about (though I realize it's not your first consideration). Good luck!

I know a number of students from my daughters dance program in Boston that love Marrymount. They have alot of modern and jazz training. My understanding is you want to audition early...............good luck!
