I might as well ask, do I have any chance?

GPA: 3.94 (weighted, 4 for College Preparatory and 5 for honors)
Class Rank: 40/320
SAT (CR/Math/Writing): 700/750/640
ACT: 31

I know my class rank is going to be the biggest turnoff for the admissions office. However, my grades and the difficulty of my classes have increased drastically since my freshman year, which is supposedly something that colleges look for.

Math II: 800
U.S. History: 650

School activites:
Varsity Golf (9-12)
Varsity Track (9-12)
Math Team (12)

Community service:
Secretary for a town board
Designed and carried out a project to build bridges on public land

My essay was well-written and about a good subject, but I'm afraid that it might have been a bit dull and long.

I have an interview coming up next week (with my dad's friend, which might help a bit), and I've done really well in past interviews.

Thanks. The wait is killing me.

Forgot to mention my recommendations. I've seen 2/3 of them, and they were both excellent.

Dartmouth conducts interview? Is this based on random draw? Or only for people they're borderline on?

Apparently it's random- if you happen to have an alum in your area doing interviews and they have opened your application and not laughed it out of the admissions office, then you get one.

I just got one in London which I apprieciate because it is so much more convenient, but I guess it was just luck (the interviewer emailed me last night so there is still a chance that other offers will come).

wait. group interviews? How common is this? I've had a number of interviews so far and they were all one on one.

"if you happen to have an alum in your area doing interviews and they have opened your application and not laughed it out of the admissions office, then you get one."

Well, that makes me feel a bit better.

Anyways, my interview went really well and was very informative. The guy who interviewed me had 3 sons who had graduated from Dartmouth and was very passionate about the school. I feel like I made a good impression and managed to get some additional information about myself in that I didn't have on my application.

So... Does anybody have a prediction about what kind of decision I should expect?
