everyone keeps talking on this board about dartmouth's fraternities and frat row, but im a girl so i was wondering, how are the sororities?

are they lame in comparison to the frats and thats why no one talks about them? or are they good but just eclipsed by the frats?

basically any info on the sororities would be nice.

my cousin just graduated from Dartmouth and she was in a sorority....she told me that all the parties were at the Frats and the sorority was not a big deal at all. although she did like living in a sorority house - apparently that's one of the greatest things

The sororities are just like the fraternities for the most part. They still participate in rush and pledge terms and wednesday meetings and tails events and their own formals. The main differences between them and the frats are that they often have much larger classes not uncommon for a 40-100 class size for a year of girls.
Another difference is the fact that since many of the sororities are national, they are technically dry. While this usually only affects them during their various visits from National reps, it does take away the ability for them to host their own registered parties (something the frats tend to pick up the slack on)
