I really think that the best thing you can do for your friends is to provide Dartmouth with insights about them (hopefully positive) that the school will not find in the teacher or counselor recommendations. Although your friends may be great students, the teachers will cover that. Try to focus on something that you're sure teachers aren't aware of, or just give an honest opinion about why you're friends with those people.
