Rate the subjects

With official decisions still a week away, I thought it'd be interesting to see how everyone would rate the subjects on a scale from 1-10, with 10 being the best. Rate the main subjects plus any others you want to add. Here goes my list.

Psychology- 10 (brilliant subject. I love virtually everything about it).
English-9 (not a big fan of grammatical and literary terms but I love everything else).
Math- 9 (Creative math like in the AMC and AIME is awesome, but school math is pretty cool too).
Physics- 9 (the math of physics annoys me, but I absolutlely love conceptual physics).
History- 7 (I really dislike US history but enjoy most other types of history).
Languages - 5 (I've taken Spanish and Latin and really disliked both. I like the idea of learning a language, but actually doing it bores me).
Chem- 3 (Yeesh. One of the two subjects I truly hate).
Bio- 3 (The other subject I hate. It's hard to say which I loathe the most).

Interesting Calidan. What sciences have you taken instead of physics and bio (I'm assuming your school requires 3 years of science)?

I think a huge factor in all of these ratings is the teaching style in which we were introduced to them.

I could put any of them from a 1 to a 10 depending on the professor teaching the material.

Obilisk- the thing is, I have never taken a specific course that has dealt with ONLY physics or ONLY biology. In California, a lot of public schools have classes called "integrated science 1" and "integrated science 2." I have taken those, and both included various topics relating to both biology and physics, but neither went extremely in depth (i.e. nothing was as extensively covered as it would be in AP Bio or AP Physics). I took chemistry, and then this year I am taking AP Environmental Science.

Ah. Well, I must say, I don't think you missed much as far as bio goes (but I'm sure others will disagree).

lol my twin brother is in AP bio right now, and from what I hear that class is hell. It sounds like no fun at all.

It probably doesn't help that I have an extreme aversion to sciences, too. I've never really liked them.

Yeah, I am not at all a science fan. But physics and astronomy interest me. There's something about the universe and the stars that I find alluring (I was one of those kids who wanted to be an astronaut).

Cali, we don't have it at the schools in my district, but I know that those sciences are pretty popular aorund here as well. Instead we have classes like Ag Sci, Life Sciences (combining chem and bio on a very easy level), and Food Science. I mean we do have basic chem, bio, physics (ewww), and those at honors and AP level, but because we have a bunch of hicks and rednecks, Ag Sci is the most taken science class.

Psychology-9 (Love the topics but the AP class is Zzzz...Zzzz)
Debate/Forensics-8 (How I learned to speak in front of people)
Math-6 (Calculus is a definite 9, I love it, but hated Geometry)
English-10 (C'mon people)
Gym-1 (Enormous waste of time)
Biology-8 (Liked it, did the AP thing, wrote the NASA paper, bought the t-shirt)
Chemistry-9 (Got 98% in the summer course, schedule wouldn't let me do Chem AP)
History/Civics-10 (Awesome teachers, awesome grades, I love it)
Physics-N/A (Scheduling errors run amok)
Languages-9 (Ich liebe Deutsch!)
Economics-5 (It just doesn't "click" with me for some reason)
Music-9 (I love playing my violin even though I'll never be "great" at it)
Journalism-15 (Look at my name!!!)

I've tried to take as many different courses as I could. The one area that I feel I'm lacking in, science, is because of scheduling errors. I couldn't do Honors Biology freshman year, and got put into some ridiculous Intro to Science thing. I did Bio H my sophomore year, then did Chem over the summer and then Bio 2AP my junior year. I tried to do Physics Honors and Chem 2AP, and the schedule just imploded.

English-5 (Not really into lit analysis)
Gym-10 (Senior Recess!)
Physics-8 (Concepts are neat, but doesn't survive the comparison to math in my eyes)
Biology-4 (don't like the class)
Chemistry-7
History-9
Languages-8
Economics-9
Music-8
