Dartmouth vs. Duke vs. Harvey Mudd

I am planning on studying some type of engineering in college and got accepted into those three schools, as well as waitlisted at MIT, although I don't think there's a very high chance for that. I'm looking for a good education, but I also want to have fun in the next 4 years, not just study all day. Any suggestions?

You basically just described Dartmouth.

I would say that Duke comes a lot closer to Dartmouth's level work/life balance than many other schools, but I still hear that it is a bit of a pressure cooker. Especially for engineers.

I would defnitely call Dartmouth engineering and confirm that you can get your degree in 4 years. I was told most take 4+ to graduate.

I believe you can easily get your bachelor's in 4, but those who want to actually become an engineer stay on for their 5th year to get a masters.

I know some people who are graduating in 4 years with the bachelor's and masters degree. (You just have to plan well, and probably start taking classes in your major freshman year).

Harvey Mudd definitely has the best engineering program of the three. However, you wouldn't have that much fun and you would be studying all day...
