Certainly it is undeniable that native americans (and other minorities) have an advantage in the admissions process. Is this more true at Dartmouth compared to other top schools given that it was founded to educate native americans?

Just one data point, but my son's first year roommate was 1/8 or 1/16 Native-American (I can't remember which) with an 1120 on the (two part) SAT.
He was separated from the College based on poor academics and some social shenanigans, but later came back and graduated.

Based on everything I've analyzed and heard, I agree that an unusually significant advantage is conferred upon those of Native American background.

no, native american does not equal in. i know more natives that got turned down than those that are in my class. i think it's important to remember that each person is evaluated in the context of his or her situation. natives might get a little help in the admissions process, but that doesn't mean that they're any less qualified to go here. compared to everything else in the application, ethnicity is a very, very small part. by no means is it an "automatic in" card. there IS no one way to get into Dartmouth.
the native american presence on campus is fantastic. if that's what you're looking for, by all means apply here

What what I've read many colleges want to see a blood percentage of either a 1/4 or an 1/8th. I applied Early Decision and I am 1/8th but am not a member of my tribe. I received a "Heritage Form" from Dartmouth and they DO NOT require membership or even a certificate of blood- all they request is that you discuss your connection with the tribe.

What they actually consider when looking at your application, I don't know.

When the common app asks if the applicant is of Native American descent(Including all Original Peoples of the America's), does it include those with Mexican Indian heritage or South American Indian heritage? I was thrown by the "all Original peoples of the Americas" part.

Dartmouth was after all, founded to help educate Native Americans and missionaries, so I would assume you get some sort of advantage.
