I was accepted ED, and I was wondering if anyone knows the official policy of what grades we have to maintain? Any rules on GPA? Cs?

I don't think there are any exact rules, but don't push it. My bf's brother got a letter threatening to rescind his admission to Carolina when his grades fell to C's in two of his classes (in-state). Obviously, Dartmouth is more competitive admissions-wise, and I assume it will hold you to higher standards for the rest of the school year than Carolina did for my bf's brother.

My sister received 2 B's and got a warning letter at Dartmouth. There are just too many other well qualified candidates who don't have B's waiting in the wings....
I wouldn't risk it.

@whiteagle: wow, that doesn't even seem that bad. Did she get 2 B's and all the rest A's and are you referring to first or second semester? The reason I ask is my friend got in to Columbia ED and got 2 B's first semester and 2 B's and a C second semester and nothing happened.

Also, to the OP, I believe a good rule is just don't get anything lower then a B and try to avoid keep a B+ average, however, according to whiteagle, they may be stricter, but thats just what I have heard. Basically, just don't slack off.

My friend started out w/ a 3.8 and went down to a 3.0 and nothing happened. So just keep a B average!

A warning letter? That's strange. If I got two Bs this semester (which is probable), my GPA would go up. (Admitted with a 3.5x and all). I don't see why they would send her a warning letter for that, unless she had a few Cs or Ds to go with that.

Most people don't get in with your kind of GPA, Altsustar. The fact that you have Bs and can probably maintain them means that you are an outlier and that your experience will not be predictive. I've checked your posts and you've got some pretty strong 800s on multiple SAT IIs. Outlier, outlier.

Keep above 4.4 GPA if possible. Don't take any chances. Just do your best.

4.4 seems pretty high...I plan on getting As and a couple Bs after getting accepted ED
