Has anyone received their notification of financial aid yet? If so, is it how much that was expected? A little more, little less? My family's savings have been hit hard by the near death of the stock market and we aren't sure it showed in the financial aid forms. We are just a bit concerned about what to expect.
I already received my financial aid estimate. It was zero. Unfortunately, my situation sounds similar to yours. Both my parents made a decently high salary last year, but with the economic downturn they are not making nearly as much as before. According to the financial aid office, Davidson is judging financial need based on income received before the economic problems because they have less money to give to students now. We were told that we could reapply next year and if the situation persisted they would reconsider. I hope you are luckier and receive some moey from the school!
a grant was given along with student work/study, no loans but still left with a sizeable balance to pay. So no loans to us just means take them out on your own. Davidson EFC much higher than FAFSA EFC but consistent with other LAC packages.
The Davidson Trust, Davidson's historic commitment to replacing loans with grants in all financial aid packages, makes Davidson affordable for all admitted students.
Does make you wonder in what dictionary they found the definition of "affordable..."
