It is often said about Davidson that it's a very un-diverse place with a very very tolerant student body. I'd say that's a true statement. Compared to our peers, we're about 10% more white, and speaking to your question, 5% less asian. Still, for me, it hasn't felt very homogenous. At times it can seem that way, but people are so excited and outspoken about their cultures and upbringings that it feels like a nice mix of differing backgrounds and viewpoints. As an aside, it should be noted that Davidson is making a very concerted effort to expand diversity here. Not only is it consistent with the school's values, but diversity is a necessity if Davidson wants to keep pace with its peers.
I assume you're referring to primarily racial diversity. Still, Davidson has a profound diversity of opinion. We're one of the most evenly split schools politically, and students hail from all over the country. I've certainly had my views and preconceived notions challenged here.
