My D and H just got back from one of the weekends, and had a great time. D got her classes, met/made friends, and felt a growing sense of "bonding" with the school. (They also had Whits ....) It was definitely worth it for us (even though a long trip, with flight delays and late nights each way!).
My son went by himself.......I went with him in April and figured it was time to start developing this independence and wing spreading. We talked about classes before and he had been corresponding with one of his prospective major profs so there were some classes already set. He seemed pleased with it all on the whole and also seems to feel more "bonded" as well. (He even used his own funds to buy a Denison shirt) I think there is also an element of shell shock that this is becoming real. On the one hand, tagging along would have been nice because I'd have more information but, this was good for him.
