Okay, so I am a rising senior and a future film major. I'm attracted to Dension becasue it is one of the few schools in OH that offer film studies and because small LACs appeal to me. Naturally, I'm interested in applying

However, I absolutly feel underqualified. Up until mid-way my junior year, I regretfully thought next to nothing when it came to college. Thus, my ECs and grades are rather weak.
Here are my stats so far

GPA: 3.5
Ranking: 143/457ish
ECS: Newspaper-i have won awards for mywriting, french club and I mentor middle school girls
ACT: 24, 11 in writing -will retake, aiming for a score in the upper twenties
By the time I graduate Iwill have taken 2 honor classes(english) and 4 APS (us history, gov,econ and pycsh)
First gen., middleeastern

I was thinking of visiting+interviewing the school in the near future but I'm wondering if it would just be pointless.

My question is how hard is Denison to get into? Should I try to apply and will I have a possible chance at acceptance? Is there anything I can do to "market" myself better?

It's going to be a reach. Your scores are at the 25%ile and your class rank is a little low. Do your best at bringing both of those up.

My thought is that a visit and interview with someone(s) appropriate might be in order. During that visit, go prepared to explain and acknowledge both your past and your desire to be genuinely considered for Denison admission. Ask them straight on ...and if it's encouraging, anything other than a "no way", ask precisely what they would advise you need to do this final HS year to enhance your profile and portfolio.

Good luck. It may be a reach right now, but if you're serious, go at this with a vengeance. Frankly, I like your chutzpah!
