Socially is there alot of stuff , as in partyin, activities, etc...or is there a really strong emphasis on academics?

There is a pretty good social atmosphere at depaul. Chicago's laws concerning sorority houses prevent a large greek system and the large house party's that follow but most students have a fairly good balance between school and fun. It also is Chicago so there are no shortage of things to do. However you will find that a large percentage of students will go back to their local suburb or home to their part of the city on some weekends or around holidays. So if you are an out of state kid like myself, find yourself some out of state friends who will stay on campus.
