DePauw Questions from a Prospective Student

Now, my first choice school (thus far), Is Notre Dame. However, I am also interested in Depauw U. So, needless to say, I have a few questions.

1. Why did you choose DePauw over other options?
2. What is the campus life like?
3. How do DePauw academics compare to other top tier schools?
4. How are the various honors programs? Mainly, Science Fellows?

Thanks!

My D will be a freshman (and has never been on CC), but I can speak for her when I say that the main reasons were 1) the Management Fellows program 2) DPU's reputation and alumni connections in Chicago (were she would like to work after graduation) and 3) small classes and access to professors. from a social standpoint, kids seem to love it there--she's hoping she will be one of them who loves it too. Good luck in your search.

My D seriously considered DePauw last year. Although she ended up at another school (in the warm south!), she liked DePauw because: friendly students, small classes with interesting profs & lively class discussions, relaxed & friendly social life, undergrad emphasis, pretty & well-maintained campus, great facilities. She had resisted it initially, given its location, but she liked it enough to ignore the fact that it's in a cornfield --- there is a lot to do, and kids stay on campus & have a great time. Academics are very good, there are travel abroad opportunities, volunteer opportunities, internships, etc.
