My D is a sophomore at Dickinson, and I have been involved with the local parents/alumni group. At Dickinson, having an interview is a fairly strong expression of interest--especially because if your child is unable to come to campus for an interview, you can request to be interviewed in or near your hometown by an alum or a parent volunteer. The admissions office says that these local interviews are given the same weight as an oncampus one. Therefore, if your child is quite interested in the school, it makes sense to schedule an interview.
